Divorce
Divorce is not an easy topic that is spoken about, but we at Eyes on You Investigations, Inc. would like to make sure that the couple involved in the divorce receives a fair trade. Whether we unveil hidden assets, adultery or just document a spouse’s means of income, our investigators can help determine the true value of assets for your divorce settlement. Private investigators are beneficial in discovering concealed assets because we have access to select databases and records that the average person won’t find. While you may know about bank accounts with your name linked, an investigator may quickly find your spouse has secret accounts with hidden money. A video showing your spouse overly intoxicated or driving recklessly while dropping the kids off at school could help you out with custody. Even without a video, a private investigator could call the police upon catching your spouse in the act of doing something illegal.
Florida is an equitable distribution state (No Fault), so there is a presumption that the marital assets and liabilities should be evenly divided. This presumption may, however, be overcome by proof that one spouse has intentionally dissipated or wasted marital assets. Gifts, trips, apartment rent, car payments, and dinners for a non-marital partner are all considered a waste of marital assets. The court may reduce the adulterer’s share of martial assets to compensate the other spouse for this waste, and we can help you prove if this is the case in your situation.
